Introducing The Vale, Cornwall

Energy

We’re passionate about working towards energy positivity.

All lighting has been replaced by LED lighting with low level energy efficient bollard lighting outdoors.

All company vehicles are electric with EV chargers installed for all lodges and cottages.

We plan to implement air source heat pumps for our hot tubs. This will bring us even closer to our goal of the entire site being powered by solar.

Water and waste

We’re doing everything we can to minimise waste in key areas.

We have recycling systems in each space for guests as well as a central recycling point.

We’ll explore potential water-saving measures for hot tubs.

We’ll work to understand water usage across the site to identify ways to reduce our consumption

We’ll work with our waste management company to track waste data to understand how we can reduce waste and set zero to landfill goals.

Wellbeing

We make design decisions based on the wellbeing of guests and local wildlife.

Using a Neurodiversity Report supplied by Change Talks we designed The Vale to ensure every guest feels welcome, valued and supported.

The infrared heating at The Vale uses no chemicals, creates a healthier indoor environment, is better for respiratory health and enhances comfort.

The outdoor bath and shower  featured with our lodges has a number of wellness benefits.

We’ve conducted biodiversity surveys for bats, dormice and other wildlife with information boards coming soon.

Design

We prioritise planet-friendly choices when creating our spaces.

At the Vale, we’ve installed solar and a battery storage system with smart balancing software.

All outdoor heaters on deckings and in gardens are fitted with timers.

We’ll use modular construction for any new spaces to reduce our carbon footprint.

We’ll work closely with contractors and suppliers to make the most sustainable choices.

Ohana

We’re building a family of trusted partners who share our values.

Onsite you’ll notice products by Faith in Nature, Who Gives a Crap and Bio-D dishwasher tablets.
We use Jacuzzi hot tubs for their CLEARRAY™ clean water system and Ninja for their electric barbecues.

We work with local activity providers such as Cornish Tours to give our destinations an authentic feel.
So far we’ve helped charities such as the British Heart Foundation, Ellie’s Haven and Play it Green.
We’re working on setting tangible targets for volunteering and giving back.
