Tucked into quiet countryside near Lansallos in south Cornwall, The Vale is a peaceful retreat of six lodges and three cottages, designed for slowing down. Looe is about five miles away, Polperro and Fowey are about four, and the nearest beach is three miles from your door.

Spend the day on the South West Coast Path, find sandy beaches and hidden coves along the Cornish coast, or wander Deerpark Forest. Then come back, fire up the Ninja BBQ and soak under the stars while the kids, or the dog, finally settle. Whatever the time of year, it feels like a home from home, with a little more space to breathe.

Lodges in Cornwall, with copper baths

Our six holiday lodges near Looe each have a private deck with an outdoor copper bath and shower, plus infrared heating to keep things cosy. The five Cardinham lodges sleep up to six, and Lerryn Lodge sleeps four, so it suits a couple or a small family.

Holiday cottages in Looe, with hot tubs

Each of our three cottages has its own private hot tub. Hannafore Cottage sleeps four, Lanreath Cottage sleeps six, and Talland Cottage sleeps eight, with a private garden for bigger families and groups.

All nine holiday homes have a fully equipped kitchen, free Wi-Fi and a Netflix-ready smart TV. Compare our lodges and cottages to find the right fit.

Dog friendly, and everyone else too

Up to three dogs are welcome in every lodge and cottage, and there's a doggy paddock for a proper run-around before or after one of our favourite dog walks near The Vale. Kids have the play park, everyone has Campfire Corner, and the shop covers the essentials.

Who stays with us

Couples come for a short break with a copper bath and a quiet evening by the fire. Families love the play park, the beaches and the space to spread out. Friends and wider family book Talland Cottage or a few lodges side by side, and teams join us for relaxed away days. Everyone belongs here, and after a few days you may not want to be anywhere else.

Out and about from The Vale

Looe has a busy harbour, fresh seafood and a sandy town beach, so a Looe holiday has plenty to fill the days. Polperro is a maze of tiny lanes and fishing boats, and Fowey sits on a beautiful estuary with boat trips, independent shops and plenty of places to eat. The Eden Project is under an hour away. The Vale runs on solar power, and our copper baths use much less water than hot tubs. We're also a Certified B Corporation, verified to meet B Lab's standards.

How close is the coast? The nearest beach is three miles away, Looe is around a 15-minute drive, and the Eden Project is under an hour by car.

Which lodges and cottages have a hot tub? Our three cottages. Our six lodges have an outdoor copper bath and shower instead.

Can we bring our dog? Yes, up to three dogs in all nine lodges and cottages. A charge per dog applies.
